It is so worth the money that I am looking up their other products.
This is NOT a toy hatchet. Because of the perfect balance between the hickory handle and the forged head it has quickly become one of my favorites. Would I choose it to cut down a large tree? Of course not. Neither would I try to use my Forest ax to prepare kindling.
I find it useful for everything from shaving feather sticks to dressing small game rather than a knife. Don't be fooled by by the looks in the picture. It is quite sturdy Do not hesitate to get this one.

Moving on, I did a quick glance over of the head and realized the last few letters of the trademark stamp failed to fully engrave. Aesthetically speaking, it was a bit of a turn off. That's fine though, I'm sure my little baby would still show that pesky timber who's boss. Then I scrutinized the head more thoroughly and recognized the steel didn't fully roll over into a complete weld on the bottom side. As a matter of fact, there was almost a quarter of an inch of steel left gapped. I cringed and almost let out a tear.
There were just too many things about this particular piece that left me unsatisfied, and I'm usually one of the last people to complain. The lack of quality on what's supposed to be a high-end axe astounded me, especially for $120 USD. I expected a better level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Maybe I just got the runt of the litter, you know, the ugly duckling. Who knows? Bad days (or products in this case) happen, you can't fault a company over one or two. I've requested a refund either way. Hopefully the next Hults Bruk I purchase will be of better quality.
